In this class you’ll create a variety of gorgeous blossoms using the Blossom Petals punch. Added as embellishments to these four coordinating cards and purse - the whole set together creates a stunning spring-time gift set!

Happy Birthday Elaine!

Today is my oldest sister, Elaine's birthday.  I sent her this make-n-take card we made at my Open House.  I hope she likes it!

This card (template) was copied from page 19 if this year's Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog.  I didn't have the new single stamp called-For You Flower, and I wanted more "girly" colors, so I improvised:

Did I tell you I was in love?

Well, I am...in love with the stamp set On A Pedestal! 

I saw this card by Nancy Riley and just had to make one.  (Be sure to check out Nancy's blog-she has TONS of creative talent!)

I am in a bright and cheery mood today, so I checked my new Color Coach (I can't get enough of this thing!) and came up with a Creative Combination based on Melon Mambo...Daffodil Delight and Tempting Turquoise then I added Chocolate Chip and Whisper White to the mix.  Let me know what you think...does this card cheer you up?

Cottage Wall Shutter Card

 

I had a Stampin' Up! class today and the hostess requested that we make a card that "does" something so I thought the ladies might like to try a shutter card.  Since I am trying very hard not to hoard my Designer Series Papers, I decided to use some of my Cottage Wall DSP.  Here is a view of the card opened.

  

Stamps:  #1149816-All Holidays

Ink Pad:  #115658-Rich Razzleberry Classic Stampin' Pad

Paper:  #115324-In Color Assorted 12" x 12" card stock: Rich Razzleberry cut to 5-1/2" x 12"

           #100702-Old Olive card stock: 2-1/4" x 2-3/4", 2-1/4" x 3-3/4"

           #100730-Whisper White card stock: 2" x 2-1/2", 2" x 3-1/2"

           #115671-Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper

•  Orchid Opulence print: 1-3/4" x 5-1/4" (2 pieces)
•  Light Stripe pattern: 1-1/4" x 3-3/4" (2 pieces), 1-3/4" x 2-1/4" (1 piece)

Instructions:

1. Score Rich Razzleberry card base in landscape position at 2", 4", 8", and 10".
2. With card base in portrait position, 1-1/2" from the edge, begin cutting at the first score line and end cutting at the last score line.  Repeat on opposite side.
3. Fold on score lines as follows: 1st score line=mountain fold, 2nd score line=valley fold, 3rd score line=mountain fold, 4th score line=valley fold.  See photo below.

   

     4.  Now for the tricky part-on the center panel only, refold the 2nd score line=mountain and 3rd=valley. 

 

    5.  Fold card to closed finished position (front and back should look the same) and burnish all of the folds with the bone folder.

     6.  Using Rich Razzleberry Classic Stampin' Pad, stamp the sentiment on the smaller Whisper White piece (2" x 2-1/2") of card stock.  Adhere to Old Olive (2-1/4" x 2-3/4") piece.

     7.  Adhere larger Whisper White piece to larger Old Olive piece (this piece will be for your own personalized sentiment.)

     8.  Open card base to flat.  Adhere Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper as indicated in photo.  Then add completed stamped sentiment piece to card front making sure that it is close to the right-hand fold (see photo).  Adhere blank sentiment piece to center of card.

 

     9.  Tie the 17" piece of Rich Razzleberry 1/2" Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon around left side of card front.  Slide knot so that it is positioned at the top, left-hand corner of the sentiment piece.  Trim ribbon ends with Ribbon Scissors.

     10. Fold back up and send to your kind, dear and wonderful friend!

Quick & Easy Card for a "Fabulous Friend"

I am so sad that the Specialty Designer Series Paper called Parisian Breeze is on the Last Chance list.  I love the texture and soft, feminine colors in this assortment, but since it contains this year's 'In Colors,' it has to go.  Here is my quick and easy card using this beautiful paper:

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all of the wonderful dads out there!  I hope you are spending a fun day with family. 

Instead of the usual fun masculine card that has a favorite sport, car, or tool theme, I decided to try my hand at a card inspired by a fellow demonstrator named Linda Heller.  It is for the "shirt & tie" dad.

 

I can't believe I made a card using no stamps or ink pads!  This was a fun & easy card to create.  Here are the ingredients:

Overcoming My Addiction

I must confess, I am addicted to Designer Series Paper.  I love all of the patterns and colors.  I love it so much that I have a hard time cutting it and using it.  You wouldn't believe how much of it I have.  When I first saw the Specialty Paper called Rockabilly in the catalog, I thought it was absolutely adorable but resisted buying it until the recent buy three get one free Stampin' Up! promotion. 

This evening I decided to actually use some of it to make a card that we will be making in my technique class on Friday, June 12th.  Here is the card I came up with:

Crazy For Cupcakes Class

I wanted something to put a few Easter treats in for my grown children who really don't eat much candy.  I got out my Big Shot and remembered that I had seen some cones that had held treats and I thought I'd make a cone into a carrot!
